Looking at the photo you may claim that it's TEAC W54E. But we still have a recorder of a new generation - the CD-W512SB. It seems that TEAC company lacks any designers. The appearance of the drives didn't change since the TEAC W54E. It means that the W54E, W58E, W512E(B) and W512SB are identical from outside. Use another sticker, and a user wouldn't be able to define the genuine model.

On the photo you can see the TEAC CD-W512SB (above), and the CD-W58E (below).

Besides, you can't be fully sure that you are buying a model with Burn-Proof support, since on the sticker you can find only "TEAC CD-W512S", i.e. without the letter "B".

The drive can be installed both in horizontal and in vertical positions.

The tray (1) goes out softer and less noisy than that of the CD-W54E and reacts instantly to pressing of the button.

Mention of the digital output on the rear panel is absent (like in many considered drives).

Overburn CD-R Philips Silver on this drive gained 2 min. 21 sec. (77:04.12)
