Anisotropic mode: 450 MHz NV40 wins.

The heaviest mode (both AA and anisotropy): vice versa.

Thus:

• NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra 450MHz vs. ATI RADEON X800 XT: the latter wins, considering heavy modes.
• NVIDIA 61.11 vs. 60.72: a certain gain can be observed.

Splinter Cell

The lightest mode (no AA or anisotropy): roughly, a parity.

Thus:

• NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra 450MHz vs. ATI RADEON X800 XT: an approximate parity which, however, "hints" at NV40's advantage.
• NVIDIA 61.11 vs. 60.72: no differences.

The lightest mode (no AA or anisotropy): NV40 is defeated.

The heaviest mode (both AA and anisotropy): the same thing.

Thus:

• NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra 450MHz vs. ATI RADEON X800 XT: a real fiasco for the former.
• NVIDIA 61.11 vs 60.72: a slight 3-percent performance increase.

It is the first of the new games, and we see the NVIDIA flagship failing. The screenshots below show that there are no significant differences in quality.
