Copra Oil Pressing Plant Process Introduction

1. Copra Oil Pressing Technology Process:

Copra→Crushing→Cooking→Pre-pressing→Twice Pressing→Oil Cake→

Crude Oil→Filter→To Oil Refinery Plant

Crushing→Measurement→Packing

2. Production Technology Introduction:

2.1 Copra Moisture: Within 7-10%;

2.2 Copra Feeding: The copra will be sent to the crusher through underground feeding hop-

per by the crusher, copra feeding quantity and flow is adjusted by feeding door;

2.3 Crushing:The copra will be crushed in to 10mm irregular pieces, which is convenient for cooking and oil pressing. The crushed copra will be sent to the cooker top layer by the elevator;

2.4 Cooking: It is the process of making the raw material become processed material(which is easy to press the oil) after heat-moisture treatment;

a. Basic Process: Firstly, add water into the two upper layers of the cooker or steaming

directly till the wetting moisture reached 13-14%, and steaming material ar the same time. Secondy, dry the cooker's ;ower three layers by direct steam so that the pressed

copra can reach the predeterminted temperature and moisture, the moisture shall be controlled 5-7%, thus the copra is mouldable and this is the essential step of copra oil pressing. The cooked copra will be lifted into the pre-presser by elevator;

b. Pre-pressing: Since the copra oil is the high oil content oil material, which oil content is 52-72%, so this process two time oil pressing, that is pre-pressing and secondary oil pressing, thus can make sure press the copra oil as much as possible. The pre-pressing cake will be lifted into sky auger, and then distributed into the two oil pressers uniformly;

c. Oil Pressing: The pre-pressed oil cake will be tempered and pressed again so that the oil residue in cake can reduce to the minimum;

d. Crude Copra Oil Filter: The pre-pressed copra oil and the secondary pressed oil will mix together, the mixture will be coarse filtered by the scraper and then will be sent into the oil clarifying tank. After the sediment, the bottom oil slag will be sent into the oil presser and being pressed again. The upper clean oil will be pumped into the plate filter and being fine filtered so that to make sure the crude copra oil impurity content below 0.5%, which makes a better prepare for the copra oil refinery;

e. Copra Cake Packing: The secondary pressed oil cake which has lower oil content will be send into the packing plant by the auger, then the cake will will be crushed & measured, and then will be bagged and sealed.

Crude Copra Oil Refinery Plant Process Introduction

1. Crude Copra Oil Refinery Technology Process:

Crude Copra Oil→Degumming→Deacidification→Decoloration→Deodorization

→Product Copra Oil

2. Production Technology Introduction:

2.1 Deacidification Process:

Deacidification (Alkali Refining) Basic Theory:

RCOOH+NaOH→RCOONa+H2O

2.1.1 Fill the oil tank into the oil refinery pot from outside crude copra oil tank till the oil

level reaches the liquid level marking line (about 5 tons);

2.1.2 Under the circumstances of fast stirring, take some sample oil and test acid value.

According to actual tested result, match a certain concentration lye in advance, accurate alkaline common fraction which is under high lye tank (see details in alkaline dosing & appendix 1);

2.1.3 Under the circumstances of fast stirring, adjust oil temperature to 40, adding 4.5 Kg phosphoric acid which content is equal or greater than 85%, Fast stirring for another 15 minutes;

2.1.4 Fast stirring at 40, add lye( finish the adding within 5-10 minutes):

Acid Value 4: Lye Concentration is tentatively fixed at 16 Be

Acid Value 4-6: Lye Concentration is tentatively fixed at 18 Be

Acid Value >6: Lye Concentration is tentatively fixed at 20 Be

Alkaline Dosing Method:

a. According to crude copra oils acid value, make sure the alkaline dosing baume degree by the deacidfication operator:

b. Dumping about 85cm water into alkaline dosing tank;

c. Take 3-5 bags Solid NaOH into the alkaline melting tank, pumped alkaline dosing tank water into the alkaline melting tank. Open alkaline melting tank self-circular system, after the alkaline is fully melt, pumped the lye into the alkaline dosing tank. If it is necessary, it can spray by direct steam;

d. Take the liquid by the measuring sensor and test the baume degree, if it is necessary, it can add the defined amount of alkaline and water till it reaches the required concentraction;

e. Pump the lye into high level position lye tank;

2.1.5 Continue fast stirring more 5-10 minutes, and then stirs slowly, warming up (about 1/minute) and observed the soap grain formation situation till it reaches the optimum settling separation state and stopped the stirring;

2.1.6 Sediment for 6-8 hours and pumped the upper clean oil into the bleaching Pot;

2.1.7 Pump the soap-stock into the soap-stock pot and separate the soap-stock out, pump the soap-stock into outdoors soap-stock pool by soap-stock pump, the upper layer clean oil will be pumped into waste oil tank;

2.1.8 The waste oil which is in waste oil tank shall be pumped into the oil refinery pot in time and refined again;

3. Washing Process:

3.1 1 Pump the oil into the washing pot for bleaching from the oil refinery pot;

3.1.2 Adjust oil temperature to 80-85;

3.1.3 Fill the soft water into high position tank till the tank is full, adjust the water

temperature above 95 ;

3.1.4 Fist Washing: Adding 400 Kg(about 8-10% of oil) water under the fast stirring circumstances, the water adding time shall be controlled within 5 minutes or so, after finish the water, continuing stirring another 3-5 minutes and stopped stirring, quiescent settling for 40 minutes and drainage the water, the water drainage shall be fast followed by the slow till see the oil;

3.1.5 As a general rule, two times washing is enough, but if there has more soap-stock, it shall be washed for three times. If the oil shall be washed for three times, the second washing will be the same with the first time;

3.1.6 The last washing will be the same with the first time after fill the water. The difference

between the third washing and the first washing lies after the stirring, the first washing shall be quiescent settling for 40 minutes and drainage the water for one time, while three times washing is quiescent settling for 40 minutes and drainage the water for one time, 55 minutes and drainage the water for one time,70 minutes and drainage the water for one time, the water had better to be discharging fully till the oil appears;

4. Dehydration, Bleaching/Decoloration Process:

4.1 After the washing, pull the oil into the bleaching/decoloration pot and stirred fast, heat

the oil temperature by the steam at the same time, open the Copra Oil Extracting Machine/ Cotton Seed Oil Extracting machine/ Cold press Oil Machine pump for dehydration;

4.2 When the oil temperature reaches 110, turn down the steam, maintain the oil's temperature reached at 110 and continue the dehydration;

4.3 When there has no steam bubble appear, the pot bottom oil pump can be turned on and

circulated for 2-3 minutes, pump the oil which has high moisture into the oil surface till the water is fully evaporated, stopped the heating and stirring;

4.4 Prepare the plate filter well at the same time;

4.5 Adjust the oil primary temperature to 105 or so and maintain this oil temperature(The bleaching/decoloration temperature can be adjusted at 85-110 according to different oils);

4.6 Absorb 150Kg clay(2-4% of total oil amount) and 20 Kg activated carbon (0.4% of total oil amount),continue stirring for another 20 minutes fast, cooled down by adding water;

4.7 When oil temperature cooled to 70, stopped the cooling one by one, remove Copra Oil Extracting Machine/ Cotton Seed Oil Extracting machine/ Cold press Oil Machine and turn off the Copra Oil Extracting Machine/ Cotton Seed Oil Extracting machine/ Cold press Oil Machine pump(or turn off the Copra Oil Extracting Machine/ Cotton Seed Oil Extracting machine/ Cold press Oil Machine main valve);

4.8 Turn down the stirring, open the pump for the filtering. Under the circumstances of the

press is not exceed 0.5MPa, the stirring shall be fast as possible. If the pressure is too high, it can be adjusted by the returning pipe;

4.9 During the filter, try to avoid the primary filter oil flow into the bleaching/decoloration

pot at first, the clean oil flows after the primary filter oil;

4.10 Each time the bleaching/decoloration oil after the filter, blows the oil for 0.5h by the compressed air, try to blow the oil contains in the clay, clean and discharge the clay in the plate filter, make sure the next time bleaching/decoloration condition is good;

4.11 The discharged clay shall be carried away in time;

4.12 The clean oil which flows into the bleaching/decoloration oil tank shall be followed the deodorization section so that ensure the deodorization goes smoothly;

5. Deodorization Section:

5.1 Pump the bleached/decolored clean oil into the stainless steel deodorization pot;

5.2 Turn on the three-stage Copra Oil Extracting Machine/ Cotton Seed Oil Extracting machine/ Cold press Oil Machine pump and check the equipment and the relative valve had air leakage phenomenon or not;

5.3 When the Copra Oil Extracting Machine/ Cotton Seed Oil Extracting machine/ Cold press Oil Machine reached 5mm Hg, turn on the deodorization pot high pressure super- heat steam valve, heat the deodorization oil and direct steam of steam super-heater with 250 super steam, when the temperature reaches 120 , blow little direct steam to make the oil writhing up and down and stirring, thus faster the oil heating up;

5.4 When the temperature reaches 220, the deodorization will start, larger the super-heat steam spray quantity, the whole process lasts for 3.5-4h;

5.5 When the deodorization process finished, turn off the steam heating valve, spray little

steam to stir, fill the cold water for the cooling. When the temperature reaches 150, turn off the direct steam, continue the cooling till the temperature reaches 70-75, pumped the oil to the plate filter through the condenser and the temperature will reaches 60-65, and oil will be filtered by the plate filter for the fine filter so that to make sure the oils impurity and transparency;

5.6 The product oil will be pumped into the filling & packing plant, after another fine filter,

the product oil will be filled into the bottles.
